Facilitator's Post

Hi readers! I'm Esmeralda, the facilitator of this week. I have coordinated and evaluated the work of my group and this week has been special. We have studied the different types of leadership that a group could have and I have been trying some of them.

 Trying to do it in a good mood, I attempted to order some of my mates what they have to do and when they have to do it, I pressure them a bit and their response was a sense of nervousness, they were frustrated and worried of doing the task as fast as possible to avoid my scolding. This is typical of the authoritarian leadership and I proved that it was not a good way of working because it was difficult to maintain a healthy environment of work.

Regarding to that experiment, I decided that the most adequate way of working was the democratic type of leadership. So, I organized the group taking into account each member of the group. In the 6th of May, I divided the work among the members of the group: Mari, Alba and Rosana worked with the Wikipedia's document that Linda had previously uploaded, while Maria and Raquel, and Blanca and me worked with the other two documents in pairs.

During this weekend we continued working on that documents and in the 12th of May we created a Prezi for our stars in order to present the activity. So, in the 13th of May the presented the activity and they do it quite well!

As a facilitator I have to say that my role was easy because, after a long time working together we have learned to work in a cooperative way.

Facilitator Post

Hello readers! I’m Alba and I’m the Facilitator of this week. My role has been coordinating the work of my group. This week has been a bit strange because we had just the time of the class for doing the task; designing the schools of our dreams but with a characteristic. We had to work under the supervision of the two stars of the group, Blanca and Raquel. At the beginning of the class, Linda had talked with them and said them that they had to be autocratic leaders, and all the decisions of the group had to be made by them. The others members of the group did not understand everything at first and they were a bit angry but after they accepted that it was part of the task. Me as facilitator tried to coordinate the work but it was impossible, because Blanca and Raquel were very hard and did not lend me to run the situation., due to their role of dictatorial leaders.

Despite this, I think that the group worked very well and the girls accepted the situation in the best way. From my point of view is a very good activity to understand the different types of leaders that a group of work can have. And after we discussed our impressions about the activity we realized that always is better a boss who is able to work in group and to listen the others opinion, although he or she manages the way of working, he has to know that other scan have other good ideas too.

Now we are working in the task about the disadvantages and advantages of each type of leadership and we hope that we can do a good exposition.

Facilitator - María Mula Pérez

Hi everyone! I´m María and this week I have the Facilitator role. As we know, the last week our task was to investigate about permanencies and differences between LOE and LOMCE and all related with educational system according to this. Linda, our teacher, gave us six topics with the most information we needed. We had to realize a “mind-map” to remark the main ideas and the most important aspects. Finally, in class everybody worked together to elaborate a complex map with the ideas each group had extracted.

This week the activity is the second step of the last week. Now, we had to develop some questions basing on these mind-maps. The condition was these questions wasn´t very obvious or easy, because the next activity will be to realize a “game”, in which the stars of each group are going to participate. The winner will be who was able to answer every question, and the reward will be a white letter for the exam!

To elaborate our questions, we divided ourselves in pairs or three persons group:

-          - Esmeralda and Blanca have been the responsible to develop the two and three topics questions.

-          - On the second hand, Raquel and Rosana have taken of four and five topics questions.

-         -  And finally, Alba, María Dolores and me have elaborated the first and the last (six) topics questions.

This morning we have collected the questions of every group in the following way: we have put all our questions in order piling up in six groups, which correspond with the six paragraphs our teacher gave us the last week. Then, each pile or topic has been delivered to each group, and the three remaining groups have been the supervisors. We have chosen eight question of everyone, and these will be the representatives of the topic one.

After holidays we will have the game! Good luck everyone!

Hello, I am María Dolores, the facilitator this week, with this role I have to be on charge of the blog, for example answering the comment of people, also I have to organize the dynamic of the group, each member was on charge of one aspect of the activity. The activity this week was about the laws, LOE is the past education law and LOMCE is the current, our mission was to note the changes between them.

The roles of this week are the following:

·         Alba and María: they are the stars, but they didn´t have to present because, on Monday, we joined with other groups to complete one of the topic of the conceptual maps which each group had to do for the activity.

·         Esmeralda: journalist she took photos and she had to do a diary to show our work, also she had to comment to other blogs.

·         Blanca: she is the Analyst, she will show some aspects of the work of this week, good and bad experience, the problems in the group…

·         Rosana: curator-farmer she is on charge to do the pearl-tree and to note the references which we used to search information.  

·         Raquel: translator, she had to extract the five most important aspects of this task and definite them.

·         María Dolores: I am the facilitator, I show here my work.

This week we had to read the links which Linda put and then we had to explain the changes in LOE which is the past law in education and the current which is LOMCE. According to this when we read the topics which Linda sent us we divided our work, María and I had to extract the main aspects in the 6 topic, Administration and Governance at Local and/or Institutional level II, whereas Esmeralda, Blanca and Alba extract 3 topic, Organization on Primary School. Rosana and Raquel were looking some web 2.0 to make our conceptual maps and with the main aspects in the laws they were on charge to do the conceptual maps.

With this activity we have known better the laws about education and we can make our own opinions about what is more adequate and if the changes are correct for students.

In short, the work was essay to do because we work very well together. However, I have to recognize that at first we didn´t know exactly what we had to do and we fell overwhelmed but finally we read the links which Linda send us and we understood better. Once do the work we realized that was easier to do than we thought at first.

But this task hasn´t finished yet, this is one of the parts of the game, with the rest we are going to continue during the following weeks.

Hello everyone! I’m Alba and I have the Facilitator Role this week. This week has been a bit hard because as we said in the post and in order to finish the part of Educational Resources of the subject, we had to do a video summarizing all the things we have learned along the course, it hasn’t been an easy task because we have done many different things with a lot of new concepts, new resources… so it was complicated  to sum up everything in only 1’30 minutes.

 First of all, when Linda said us what we have to do, we started to do a brainstorming of the basic things and competencies we have developed in this part of the subject, and we wrote all the ideas, everyone suggest interesting things and ways to do the video, and we started to work.

 I have to say that I am very pleased with the work of the group, we really worked very well. As usual, we divided the task, a couple think about what we have learned, others about the best way of reflect everything in short-time, and Rosana, our expert in new technologies, started to learn how to use Moovly, and then she explained it to us.

For me is very important to have a good relationships between all the members, because we spend a lot of time together and is basic to get well with everybody, and I can say that we are so lucky because we haven’t got problems between us. If any difficulty or tension appears we know how to solve it. This course is being a very good experience for us, doing the summary we realized that we have learned a lot of resources and we have acquired how to use interesting and useful  tools v for us when we become teachers.

 We only had a problem with the blog, we saw a comment of Linda, our teacher ,telling us that we had use different writing in the whole blog, and we decided to change it immediately. Also she said us that we haven’t got tags in the posts, so as responsible of the Webs 2.0 I searched in the Net what was that and after telling the group how to put it, we corrected it. As Facilitator of the week, I am very happy because everyone  knew their role and did their duties perfectly, we just want the better for the group, it is a pleasure works with them. In some moments when we have to change anything wrong like the last week with the comic, we always find a solution together. The good relationship between the members of a group is also crucial because teachers in schools do not work by their own and with an individual objective, they work together for the best education possible to children in school, the same happens in this course, we have got a common objective and we know that cooperate is the best way to reach it, and if you do it with a smile, and respecting your partners and the different points of view, much better!

 Finally I want to say thanks to my Little Ants for their good predisposition to work, we can with everything.

Hello, I am Esmeralda, the facilitator of The Little Ants during this week. My experience in this role has been good, maybe because the members of the group get on well and it was easy to work (and to be a bit bossy) with them. This week, we have been working on the dark side of textbooks. The role of each person of my group during this week was:

Journalist: Raquel. She had taken some photos and videos during the week and she has commented on blogs of other groups.

Analyst: Rosana. She had to evaluate the work of each member of the group. She also had to make the reflection of the task of this week answering some questions related with the topic.

Translator: Alba. She had to find the five key concepts of the task and she had to define them looking for extra information.

Curator-farmer: Maria. She had to organize a mind map and she had to put these ideas in a PearlTrees. She also has to compile the references of the resources that we have used.

Stars: Blanca and Maria Dolores. They had to explain to the whole class the reason of why we have choose the format of comic for doing the task and they had to present the comic.

This week the format that we decided to use for this task was the comic. We had different tasks to do so I decided to organize the group in order to do not waste the time. Maria and Raquel thought how to create and do the drawings of the comic. Rosana and Blanca started to look for one tool of Web 2.0 that allows us to update our own images to do the comic. Alba, Maria Dolores and me started to look for some resources to catch the main ideas of the disadvantages of text books and we started to do the outline of the comic. When we finished our individual tasks, each person of the group explain the others the conclusion that she had arrived, so all of us know the main ideas. Moreover, we decided together the ideas that we will put on the comic.

I am very happy with the development of the task because all the members of the group had their activities on time.

Also, I had to solve some problems. For example, we started to work with one tool for doing the comic but we were not really sure about if this tool will be the correct tool, so we talked with the teacher the next day and she told us that we must find an online tool to upload our comic. We continue looking for other tools and finally we found the adequate one.

I have to mention that we had a special visit the last Monday on our class, which was Mercedes Ruiz' visit. During that session we also talked about the disadvantages of text book and she proposed us some alternatives: we not only have to pay for text book as the unique tool to teach, we can invest our money in buying different books with colors, forms, papers with different forms and textures, etc. After her visit, we decided to include some of her ideas in our comic so we tried to improve it.

Hello, I am the Facilitator of “The Little Ants”, Blanca, during the third task. This week I could learn about the Creative Commons, new information with the steps that we must follow when we have to do a slideshow and things about the water, floating and sinking (the presentation of the topic that the group chose).

My role as facilitator consists of dividing and coordinating the members of the group. I have to tell each person what they have to do. I have to solve the problems and help other members with the incidents that emerge during the week. Then, I have to check that everything uploaded to the blog is well done, correct the spelling and answer the comments. I have updated some things in Twitter.

The role of each person during this week was:

• Journalist: Mª Dolores. She has commented in the blogs of the other groups and has taken photos and has made some videos while we were working.
•  Analyst: Raquel. She has answered some questions related to the topic of the week and she also has evaluated each member of the group.
• Translator: Rosana. She has to choose the five words which have been the key to understand the topic and she looked for information about them.
• Curator-farmer: Alba. She has made the PearlTrees and has compiled the references that we have used.
• Stars: Esmeralda and María. They were in charge of explaining to the whole class the slideshow that we had prepared about the slideshow of the water.
• Facilitator: Blanca.

The work of my colleagues was wonderful this week. I am very happy with the coordination of the group.

This week we had to make three slideshows. In order to understand better the concepts I thought that it would be better to divide us and make the slideshows in pairs. So I told Rosana and Mª Dolores to do the slideshow about the twenty basic tips that we have to follow to do a good presentation. Then, I told Esmeralda and María to do the slideshow about the Creative Commons. And finally, I do the slideshow with Alba and Raquel of the topic related to a content on Primary School (in our case, the water-floating and sinking).

We decided to present our slideshow about the water with objects on live. With this we thought that the presentation will be more believable.

I have to say that each member of the group had their activities in time. When we finished our slideshows and all we have to do, each person explained to the whole group how was the experience, what we have learnt and so on. In this way all people of the group have an idea and know everything of the topic in the subject of School Organization.

I also have to solve the problems that happened. For example, on Tuesday 18^th of February, we started our slideshow about the water, but the next Thursday we talked with our teacher and she told us that we must focus in one specific aspect of the water so we change it. We decided to do the presentation about floating and sinking, which was a topic more definite.

Other problem that occurred was that we were thinking in objects which sink and which float and we think that the best objects were a coin, a leaf, a stone and a cork. Then, we realized that we have not got a leaf, a stone and a cork, so I and Raquel went to the street in order to find the objects. I really enjoy this experience!

Hello! I'm Rosana and this week I'm the facilitator. This role, as Raquel explained the last week, consists on organize the work of my group. I must divide, organize and coordinate the work of each member, encourage the dynamic of the group and help to the members with their problems. And finally I also have to conserve and secure the blog's quality, answer the comments, correct the spelling, etc. Like the past week, the star role have been divided between two people. The role of each person is:

~The facilitator: Rosana Sánchez
~The journalist: Blanca Puche, she must comment in the blogs of the others groups and, furthermore, she must to take photos and videos of our group while we work.
~The analyst: María Dolores Muñoz, she has to evaluate the work of the group, that is, have to answer to questions as: what was the best and the worse part of the activity, what we have learnt and so on.
~The translator: María Mula, she has to choose five important words about the activity and explain them with her own words but also with scientific resources.
~The curator-farmer: Esmeralda Martínez, her role consists on do a compilation of the references used in the activity, and has to do a Pearl-tree.
~The stars: Alba Velasco and Raquel Lorenzo, who have the most important role. They have to represent in class the activity done during the week, with a poster.

This week all the group has been working hard and I'm very glad with my classmates because they demonstrate their effort and their responsibility.

As facilitator, I said to each member of the group when they had to have the work done, because we needed that the activity was done in time for the stars prepared their presentation. In this way, we had done the poster and the whole activity on Thursday, leaving to the stars all weekend for prepare well the presentation. Furthermore, I helped to my classmates when they had any problem or they didn't understand something.

And, finally, this week I have been monitoring the twitter and the blog. This afternoon I published the post about the activity of this morning in class, about cartographic maps.  Besides, and for last, I worked with my mates in the mindmap used in the exposition.

Hello! I am Raquel, the role that I have this week is the Facilitator of my group, which is composed by seven menbers, as you know there are only six roles so in this group we have divided the star role between two menbers.

As the majority of you know my role consist on divided, coordinate and organize the work of each menber of the group, encourage the dynamic of the group and help the other menber with their problem and affairs. And finally I also have to conserve and guarantee the blog's quality, answer the comments, correct the spelling and so on.

The organization of my group is:
The facilitator: Raquel
The journalist: Alba, she has commented in the blogs of the others groups, also she has maken photos and videos of our group while we were working.
The analyst: María, she has answered some questions about the activity of TPACK and put marks to each menber of the group about how we have worked.
The translator: Esmeralda, she has choosen five key words that we have learned this week with this activity, she has defined them and looked for some information about them.
The curator-farmer: Blanca, she has maken the pearltree and the references.
The Star: Mª Dolores and Rosana, they have explained in the class the poster which has been maken by the hole group.
As administrator and the person who coordinate the activity of each menber of the group, I have to say that I am very happy with the work of my groupmates because we have worked very hard in this activity.

In my role as facilitator, I have said to each menber when they had to have their activities maken to have it at time. I also helped them when someone didn't know exactly what they had to do or how to do it. So in sum, I have helped them to clarify their activities.
About the web of the group, I have created the twitter of the group and the blog and I have maintained the dynamic in them, answering the comments, looking for followers and correcting the spelling. I have created the post of the TPACK in our blog. And finally, I have worked with my groupmates in our mindmap for the exposition.
