Analyst's Post.

Good evening!  I’m Rosana and this week I have been the analyst of my group. To do my work well, I’m going to answer the following questions:

1. What was the best part of the activity? The best part of the activity was when we finished the task, because we were very exhausted and stressed and we need time to study.

2. What was the worse? The worst part was when we didn't know how to present. We were arguing during twenty or twenty-five minutes, and finally we could decide it.

3. What was the best moment of the week (in the work of the group)? The best moment of the week was when we were searching the advantages and the disadvantages and we realized that each one found the same that the others. We started laughing, between jokes, and finally we continued with the work.

4. What was the worse? The worst part of the week for us was when we couldn't get to agree about the presentation, because we don't like to discuss and this little problem almost gets that we discuss.

5. What have you learnt? We have learnt the different types of leadership, and what are the advantages and the disadvantages of each one. Besides, we also learnt that, although a leadership can seem bad, it has got his advantages too. And the same with a leadership that seems good, later you can find that it has got his disadvantages.

6. What do you need to conserve -as a group- for the next weeks? Although there aren't more weeks, I am sure that we need conserve what we have learnt, because in a future we can need it when us be teachers. Of course, each one will have to decide what kind of leadership she wants to use in her job, and now we know what are the best and the worse things of each leadership.

7. What do you need to improve –as a group- for the next weeks? We need to learn that we have to divide the work in a better way, because we felt overwhelmed and we couldn´t concentrate at first, but at the end we complemented between us.

8. How THIS content is related to other contents in the course and in your degree? The main relation is with the previous task, when our stars had to represent a kind of leadership (authoritarian), and the stars of the other groups the others kinds of it.

Hello! I am María Dolores, the analyst, in this work I have to evaluate the work of the group and answer these questions:

a. What was the best part of the activity? The best part has been to design our own school because we have learnt more about the organization of a school. The school board is one of the most important part of the school, it is composed by the staff of school and other people.

b. What was the worse? The worst part was, at first we didn´t know what we have to do, because our stars acted like the boss, they gave us orders and the things which we had to do, so we were confused and overwhelmed because we had few time to do the task.

c. What was the best moment of the week (in the work of the group)? We had got only one day but we were great time searching information and designing our school, although at first not was like that.   

d. What was the worse? We were lost at first because this task was different, the star normally is a person who usually presents the task, but this time was different, the stars had to choose two members of our group to present the task, while they were like the rest of the public.

e. What have you learnt? We have learnt the organization of a school, there are a lot of people who have to be on charge of that institution, for example, the School Broad is one of the most important part, it is composed by many people.

f. What do you need to conserve -as a group- for the next weeks? In this task we have learnt to do a quickly work, we had an hour to design our school. Other times we knew that we had more time and we were calmer, sometimes the pressure is good because we can see that we are able to work quickly.

g. What do you need to improve –as a group- for the next weeks? We need to learn that we have to divide the work in a better way, because we felt overwhelmed and we couldn´t concentrate at first, but at the end we complemented between us.

h. How THIS content is related to other contents in the course and in your degree? This content can be related to many contents of our degree because we had to design a school with his school broad, the organization, schedules and so on. So we have to take into account the children who are from different cultures and countries (sociology of education), the technologies which they are going to use to develop their learning (ICT), the planning of students, for example schedules (planning of education).

i. There is any evident social connection of this content (news, politics, etc.)? We can connect this task with the current changes which took place in the organization of schools with the new law, LOMCE, because we have to be aware about the organization according it. When we studied the law of education we saw some advantages and disadvantages for students, and we understood the polemic situation.

Analyst Post

Hi I am Raquel and I was the analyst of my group last week! The las week we finished with the Educational System Game, and to close the subject we did a competition with all the groups. As all of know what is the work of an analyst, I am going to start to tell you our reflection about the game directly.

Thinking on the last week maybe, the best part of the activity was what we have learned about the law and the best part is that we have learned things that we will be able to use in our future as teachers. We think that with these new knowledge we will do our work easier. On the other hand, the worst part of the activity, in our opinion, was that the stars had to play in the game alone, without any help from the rest of the group. We stronly believe that in this type of activities would be better if the hole group could participate in it, because for example in this case we are a group but in this game our stars were the two people that can participate, they had a very big responsibility because they was fighting to get a reward, which will be for all the members of the group, so we think that it would be more right if the group would have a representative who speak and tell to teacher the answers which the group decide, but the hole group can discuss about what answer is the best and add more things, because all the members should have the opportunity to fight to get that reward. Also as future teachers we believe that is better to promote work in group in the way that I have just explained.

About the day of the game, the best moment was at the beginning of the class, when our stars answered correctly the questions, because we knew that it would motivate them and would help them to be more self-confident, it was a good thing because they wanted to win the first reward for our group and they were very nervous. On the other hand, the worst moment was without any doubt the moment before the beginning of the game, because we were really nervous, but over all our stars were very nervous too ,of course, because they were the people who play in that moment and the rest of the group couldn't help them in that moment. They had our support but it wasn't enough to calm their jitters. 

To sum, I have to repeat that we have learn new things about the Educational Law of our country and we think that this have been an interesting method to work this topic, which we have study for the firts time, because any of us had studied any law before this game, so it have been a good experience and we believe that these knowledge will be very usefull in our future as teachers as I have said before.

Hello everyone! I'm Alba, the Analyst of this week. And as you know I have to put the marks of my partners. I had really enjoyed my task because I didn't have any problem with any of them, so I put them very good marks because they deserved it. We worked very well together and for this task we had only a few difficulties printing the cards, but we solved it immediately.

The task of this week was doing questions about the LOMCE according to the conceptual maps done the previous week, and once you had the questions, put them in cards.  We met one time and because this work was easy to divide, we did the rest of the task separately. We worked by couples and divided the topics. Although this can be seen as an easy task, we wanted to make very good questions, so we spent many time doing it.

The best part of the activity for us was correcting the cards with Give me 7 and voting our classmates's cards. We really enjoyed seeing their work and learning from their questions.

For us, the worst part was printing the cards because we had a little problem with the size, but we solved it very quickly.

We have learnt many things about the LOMCE, LOE and the changes between the two laws. I consider very useful to know about the subjects, the role of teachers, the autonomy of schools and so on.

We have to conserve that we work very well together, and we do not have many problems among us, and it is important to continue working in this way.

Although I think that we work well, for me we have to improve that in determined moments, we are a bit stressed beacuse we have too much work and we do not know what to do, we have to learn how to keep calm.

Evidently, this content is very related to many things in this course, specially with the part of the curriculum of the subject 'Planificación de la Acción Educativa' but in general it is related with most of our subjects.

Of course there are many social connections with the politic of our country nowadays, beacuse LOMCE is a very recent law and like everythings, it is being very controversial and critized by the citizens, so it is essential to know it closer.

In my opinion, it is being a very good experience for learning more things about the current law in education and the running of spanish schools nowadays. Something essential for us when we become teachers. All the groups are working very hard, and I have to recognize that after all, we are a bit afraid of this game, but we know that with effort and work we can reach it! We are very motivated to keep on working and learning.

Hello! I’m Blanca and this week I have the role of Analyst. I have to evaluate the work of every member of the group and make a reflection about the task. This week we started the part of the subject of Educational Resources and the task, as you know, consists on the changes in the Spanish Educational System.

This week we have to compare the two lasts laws, LOE (Ley Orgánica de Educación) and LOMCE (Ley Orgánica para la Mejora de la Calidad Educativa). At first, I found this task a bit difficult because it was the first time that we deal with this kind of laws. We saw it in the subject of Planificación de la Acción Educativa, but with this task we really understood how it is.

On the one hand, the best part of the activity was to analyze, examine and vote three conceptual maps and do a new one with all the information. With this, we realized how to be critical, new perspectives and ways of thinking and madding conceptual maps. We also learn that this subject is more than learning content; we have to develop new competences by our own with assistance of our teacher. For these reasons I think it was the best part of the task.

On the other hand, the worst thing is that it was a bit difficult to put the marks of the conceptual maps of the classmates because each member of the group thinks about different aspects. But finally we take into account everything and we carried out with our work. Moreover, we should encourage more comradeship among classmates to be better in class.

With this task, we have learnt the main differences between LOE and LOMCE. We understood how was and actually is the educational law of Spain and the main characteristics. It is a very important thing for our future as teachers because we will use it all along our work. We also learnt with this task and with the other ones, how to work cooperatively and with autonomy organizing our own ideas of the differences between the laws with conceptual maps. I think it would be very easy to us understand the laws with conceptual maps which contains the important information. But one thing I want to remark, how we are going to use all these knowledge we are acquiring in our future work as teachers?

I think we need to conserve our dedication and implication with every task. We do our best to improve every week. In my opinion, I think we are very united with an objective: learn as much as we can!

As far as I am concerned, we have to improve the presentations of our tasks because we are always nervous. We have to speak louder and put more enthusiasm in everything we do. Although our work is well done, we can improve!

The content of this task, as I said before, is related to the one we learn on the subject “Planificación de la Acción Educativa”. Then, I have to say that the law is going to be present all along our future as teachers, because we need to know the framework in which we are going to develop children’s knowledge and our own knowledge too. We are going to deal with this content the rest of the degree.

In my opinion, there are some evident social connections of this content in the recent protests we saw in television because of the new educational law, LOMCE. This situation entails people who is in favour or against of it. For example, I think it is a bad implementation that they remove music from the subjects of Primary Education. It seems to me that it should remain compulsory.

Analyst Post - Esmeralda Martínez López

Hello everyone! I'm Esmeralda, the analyst of this week. I suppose that you already know in which consist my work but I will explain it again. I have to make a reflection about the task of this week and also I have to evaluate each member of the group. This week the reflection is about the whole course of the subject because the task was to make a video summarizing our knowledge.

As a general idea, I am really happy about our work as a group because this week we have worked very hard. Firstly we tried to find the deep content of each task that we had done. So we made a relation between the purpose of the tasks and the competencies that we developed doing them. We used the TPACK framework to integrate all the tasks because it is a model of modern education which combines, in an excellent way, technology, pedagogy and content. If we put away root learning and textbooks our work as future teachers will be more dynamic and interactive as well as students learning.

On the one hand, the best part of the task of this week was when we valued the knowledge that we have learned and when we realized the competencies that we have developed. The purpose of this subject is more than learning content, the purpose is to develop competencies which help us to solve problems outside the scholar content using the knowledge that we had acquired.                                                          

Thinking on that, we took a teacher's view to investigate the main purposes of a good education and we made a reflection about how each of the tasks helped us to reach these purposes. Regarding to that reflection, we arrived to the development of competencies and we tried to explain them in our video in relation with each task.

We learned that the objective was not only the final result, it was also the procedure. We arrived to a final result but we passed for some steps before reaching the objective. We had to understand the task and to investigate how each of the tools worked in order to use all of them in our work. With these steps, we learnt autonomy, cooperative work, how to learn on our own, how to investigate about a specific topic, how to organize our ideas, etc. And it not only works for this subject, it is useful for our work as teachers. We have opened our mind and we have understood that we have a lot of different ways of teaching apart from the traditional one. It is time for us to innovate, to discover new ways of teaching, allowing children not only to learn by heart but also to investigate on their own. Why can't we be innovative teachers? Why we have to work with old methods when there are a lot of new methods to discover? Why children have to learn for passing exams rather than for realizing as a person? And the most important thing, if we have the opportunity of changing it, why don't we do that? It's our moment, we can do it!

On the other part, the worst part was the day of presenting our videos to the class. It was a difficult situation for us because we had the worst scores of the class and we were frustrated about it because we really do not thing that our work was so bad. In fact, we worked a lot on it; we though carefully the idea that we wanted to transmit and we tried to explain it in our video as clear as possible. But then, we talked with Linda and she explained us that the grades were not based on the quality, it was a question of preferences and maybe, our work was more boring than others or something similar. So we will work hardly on it to improve as much as possible. We realized that our work had several things to improve and we will try to do it better at the next task.

To sum up, this week the work was great because we realized how much we have improved these months. However, it was a bit frustrating because of the results. We will do it better the next time, sure!

Hello, I'm Rosana, and this week I have the analyst's role. I know that the same sentence isn't important, but I would like to remember that the analyst's role consist in evaluate the work of the group.

The first thing that I would like to say is that, this week, the group have been working very hard and that I'm pleased with them. I could say a lot of thing about this task, but I must answer the questions, so here goes!

In order to the first question, I want to say that the best part of the activity has been show you our way to understand that the text books are not the only way for teaching and, of course, they aren't the best way to teach children. I passed a long time thinking on what we wanted to represent, because for we, is very important that the people know that children need different ways to learn. On the other hand, I strongly believe that the worse part of the activity was when we showed our comic to Linda and she said us that we had to do the comics in a online program, the comic had to be 2.0. Then, we had to change them and the work was very hard, but I finally get it.

With this task, we have learned that not only the text books are important, but there are a lot of resources which teach children in a better ways. So, they can learn by discovery. Besides, we must improve the time that we spent thinking about what we want to present, to do, to say; because we pass a long time with it. Possibly, it's the reason we are so slow to accomplish tasks.

To sum up, for the next week we should conserve all the knowledges learned until now and, of course, we must continue working hard, more each day, because it's the most important for do a good work.

Hello, I'm Raquel and this week I'm the analyst of my group, as all of you should know my work consist on evaluate the work of my hole group and I have to put a mark to each member of my group, I also have to answer some questions.

If I think about the work that we have done this week, I can say I'm very happy and proud with each member of my group as well, because we have work very hard, making the slide shows, thinking on the topic about we were going to speak, looking for the photos to put in each slide show and so on.

On the one hand, I strongly believe that the best part of the activity was when we did the slide show about floating and sinking, because as we have studied in psychology of development, children have specific needs in each age, so we had to think how to do it in the better way to explain to the students, at the beginning we decided very fast how to do it, however, we changed our methodology a lot of times to improve it, at the end, as far as I concerned it was very interesting, dynamic, and it is clearly the better way in order to the children can understand very well what it is. Because we, as teachers in our future, will have to work very hard to prepare our class, to teach in the better way, to caught the student's attention and to be a little better everyday. In the same way, I think that there isn't a worse part of the activity because I have learned with each thing that I have done this week.

On the other hand, the worse moment of the week was when we did the storyboard to show it to Linda and to ask her if it was a good slide show, and she told us that we should change it and also that we should be more specific. In that moment we can't believe it, because we though that our slide show was very well done, we were working hard in it, therefor, it was clear that we should improve it in some aspect so, from our point of view it help us to see that is better to explain a general topic throughout a division in concrete topics, for example a concrete topic about water is floating and sinking. As we studied in Planning and also as we are studying here, we have to listen and value the critics of others to improve like teachers everyday, so we listened and value Linda's critic to improve our work. Because, if we don't listen these critics in our future as teachers we won't be able to improve. In the other way, the best moment of the week was when our stars did the presentation about floating and sinking, because we realize that our decision was right, because the slide show was very dynamic and beautiful and it was what we wanted to show. We wanted to show a good form to teach to the student, explaining this topic to show our classmates how we would explain it to our students.

This week has been very interesting, because we have learned a lot of things, first of all, we have learned how to do a good slide show step by step. We though that we knew how to do it, however, now we can do a good slide show. It knowledge is really useful for our degree, in which we have to do a lot of slide shows, and we will need it in our future as teacher because as we have seen with this activity it's easier to teach children throughout this method. Besides, we have learned what is creative common and how to use it.

In sum, I think that for the next week we should conserve these knowledge and our good relationship as a group, because it's the main thing to work in group, we also have to keep working hard.

Hello! I am María Dolores, the analyst this week, here I show my work.

What was the best part of the activity? The best part in this second task was that we have learnt that in the past there were people who had different thoughts on how was the world, Robinson, Mercator and Azimuthal showed us their projections and their visions of the Earth in different ways. Also we could have seen the impact which has the media on children and the importance of children to distinct between reality and fiction.  Finally, this weekend we have learnt which a “treasure hunt” is; this is useful to teach children in a fun way.

What was the worse? When we arrived on Monday and teacher told us that we had to do another activity, we have to recognize that, at first, we were impacted. But finally, we realized that this was useful for us because we share our work with other member of other groups who had the same role as each member. So, this helped us to understand different point of view of different parts of this task.

What was the best moment of the week (in the work of the group)? The best moment this week was when we compared the different projections, this was interesting. But the most was when we considered the activity which we could teach to children about treasure hunt. We said different activities and it was funny.

What was the worse?  We had some problems to know what treasure hunt was because we didn´t find the definition, and each members of my group said different things. But finally we saw some examples on the internet and we understood it better.

What have you learn? We have learnt the different point of view of each man, Robinson, Mercator and Azimuthal on how they saw the world. It´s interesting see that some countries are different from actual maps which are habitual for us. Also, the big impact of media on children and how can it influence them, for this reason they should distinct between the reality and fiction. Finally, we have learnt what a treasure hunt is; this is a fun way to teach children some content.

What do you need to conserve –as a group- for next weeks? We need to conserve the cooperation which we have, we work very well together and we have rarely had an argument, I think that this is so important to reach a good work.

What do you need to improve –as a group- for the next weeks? May be, the organization is one of the things which we have to improve because sometimes one of us start with a thing which other member have to do.

How THIS content is related to other contents in the course and in your degree?   This course we won´t see anything related with geography but, next year we are going to study a subject relevant with this, so there we may see something related with this three projections. One thing which I have studied in sociology of education was the impact of mass media on children there; we learnt that TV is one of the most important.

There is any evident social connection of this content (news, politics…)?

Here I can connect this content with a politic aspect, for example: in three projections we can see that some countries are bigger than other, the cause can be because the author wanted to stand out some important countries.

Another social connection, is the impact of media in children, they see TV and other mass media which can influence their behavior: as we said on Monday “Sponge Bob” is an important character for them. In other kind of programs is important that children learn to distinct between reality and fiction because in some cases the violence is so common.

Hi! I'm the analyst of this week and with this activity, we have learnt a lot of things. First of all, the best part of the activity according to all my classmates and me has been the development of the activity in class the last day because it was very funny. Also, we liked a lot the interaction between all groups, so in short, the best moment of the week was the development of the activity in class.

On the contrast, for us the worst part probably has been the searching for added information and the elaboration of the mind map, maybe this was the most difficult part, we didn´t know how to elaborate it.

When we were working in groups we learnt what TPACK is, but thanks to this part of the activity (which we did on Thursday-presentations) we understood exactly its definition, its main and secondary characteristics, the relation between them and other forms to work this type of activities. But also we have learnt how to improve the elaboration of this type of activities.

On the contrast, the worst part, especially for our two stars, has been the presentation because TPACK has been the first activity and we didn´t how working in it very well, but I hope that little by little we improve our works!

As a group, all members work very well (in reference to the cooperation). All of us have an interest and we try to effort to obtain good results. Each member helps the others and we learnt to each other. However, we have to improve obviously some things. As we divided the work between all members, probably we have forgotten that each one have to study better his part. In the next weeks, we will try to improve this!

We can link TPACK with another of our subject, TIC. The relation is based on the following word: TECHNOLOGY.

Finally, this content is strongly related with the actual world, so we can establish some links with our present – news. Nowadays, in media, we always see or listen to issues related with TECHNOLOGY and its repercussion in society, its advantages and disadvantages, etc.

In short, TPACK can be considered as an excellent tool to transmit education, and we think that thanks to this activity, we can help to diffuse the importance of it.
