Journalist's Post.

Hello! I'm Rosana and I'm the journalist of the task that we did on Monday.

Unfortunately, I can't tell no story because this task was done in the same day, so I only have some photos of that.

On Monday, our stars had to act as authoritarian bosses and they were sending us to do things all the time. We had very little time to do the task and, beside of this, I was selected to exhibit alongside Esmeralda. For all this, I couldn't take a lot of photos, so I will leave here two photos, in which you can see some of my teammates doing the task, thinking how it would be our center and bringing our ideas to paper.

For me, the work that we did on Monday was very nice, except for the orders of the stars, because they made us a little nervous.

To sum up, I would like to say that I hope the activity was done right and that we are working hard for the next task.

Thank you, and see you soon.

Journalist's post.

Hello! I'm Rosana and this week I have had the journalist's role.

The first day that we met, we started reading the different topics. When we read one topic, we thought in some questions that we could do.

In this way, we were able to make note of the main things that we wanted to highlight.

Fortunately, we only had to meet twice. So the second time we met, we could do all the questions. Each member of the group contributed with different ideas, and in this way, it was very easy choose the questions that we wanted do.

When we had all the questions ready, we read everything in order to sure that it was okay.

Finally, we went to the class on Thursday and we had to evaluate the cards of our classmates, with the collaboration of 'Give me 7'. In this photos, it's reflecting how each member gave his point of view and all together we could decide the scores that we thought more adecuate.

To sum up, I would like to say that for me it have been a pleasure to be a journalist, because I love photography, so it was a nice week to me and I'm very happy with my group. Thank you, and best regards.

Journalist Post.

Hi readers! I'm Esmeralda, the journalist of this week. This is an interactive role which consists of collecting some photos and commenting other interesting blogs related to the topic we are working on.  While the members of the group are talking about the ideas, planning how to carry on the new task or doing the mind map, I have to take photos of that process.

I have also commented on one blog from people of the class, and other blog from outside the class. Si here you can see the comments:

This one is from the blog of Hide & Seek:

This second comment is posted in a blog from another student. He posts his reflections and thoughts about his classes on his personal blog and I have found interesting his viewpoint   of the topic:

Also, here it is the link of Pablo's blog:
 http://pablodidacticblog.blogspot.com.es/2013/10/what-have-we-learnt.html?showComment=1396366486156#c3174045173056578302

And here you can see some photos of our work during this week:

On 26st of March, the group started to organize the ideas of how to carry on the new task of the week.  We started to read the instructions of the task in class and this afternoon we worked on the two topics.

On 27st of March, we continued working on class and we started to make the comparisons between the actual educational law (LOMCE) and the previous one (LOE). We decided to divide the work in order to find more information easily.

On 28st of March, we organized the ideas on the concept map. Firstly, we did it in a draft and then, we did it on Examtime, the tool that we chose to do the concept map.

On 31st of March, we worked with Hide & Seek and with GiveMe7 unifying the concept map of each topic and putting marks to the different concept map of the groups.

As a result, I have enjoyed very much this role because it is more interactive than the others. I have taken different photos and I have worked with people of other group which was really interesting.  We shared our different points of view about the topic and we made together a concept map summarizing the information of the different concept map that we had.

We tried to do the task carefully and we put a lot of effort on it. We tried to understand the law and we tried to synthesize all the aspects in an easy way.

See you!

Mercedes Ruiz's class

Hello everyone! On Monday we had a very special visit in our #SOyER1314 class, Mercedes Ruiz (@londones). She demonstrated us how is possible teach the children in a very different way as the usual.
As resource, she used just a skirt, gloves and a hat, with this she told a story, it was very interesting. With the gloves, one blue and one red, she explained the reality of our country and the political situation in it. We liked too much her class, we realized that the teacher is also a story-teller and she has to innovate other ways of teaching in order to do dynamic classes and motivate their children. After she sent us a funny task, we really enjoyed doing it,we took a photo outside the class and chose a slogan for it.
Our slogan was ‘Together for the same  goal’, we think is important to work in groups and support in others, mainly with all have the same goal, in our case, being teachers.

Here, you have some photos about the making off:

Mercedes also explained us that a teacher has to know how to work without text books, just use it like an extra help, not focus their lessons on it, the students only learn from a point of view with it, and no think by themselves, just memorise for the exam and after, they forget all the knowledge learned.

To finish, we want to say thanks to Mercedes Ruiz for her lesson, we will never forget it, she helped us a lot to open our mind and understand the necessity of being good teachers and professionals in our work. Also we want to say thanks to our teacher Linda for bring us this opportunity, it was fantastic and very useful for us.

Best regards.

Stars Post- Esmeralda and María

Hi! We are Esmeralda and Maria, the stars of this week. The last Monday, we presented an exposition about a topic of primary school, one of the properties of the water- density and objects which float, and objects which sink.
Our topic, as we have already said was about water. On one hand, when we explained why objects float, we put a cork and a leaf on the surface of the water and we could see how they do not sink due to its low weight material. On the other hand, we could see how a coin and a stone sink when we put them on the surface of the water.
In our presentation we decided to do some experiments because we think that it is an effective method for children to learn in a more interactive way. Sometimes students have to accept what the teachers told them without any reason for believe it. So, if we prove as the same time that we teach them it will be easier for them to memorize and internalize this content.

Here you can see the presentation we used last Monday:

Also, you can find each photo of our presentation on flirck.com. We have uploaded it because maybe some of you find our photos interesting so, you can download and use them.

During the presentation, we used a set of slides to illustrate our ideas. We used some tips in order to make the slides more attractive to the class. For example, we tried to use only one sentence in each slide and we tried to put only one image in each slide but including their respective creative common licences. Moreover, we acquire new tips about how to make a presentation properly. Summarizing:

- Images must occupy the entire size of the slide in order to make them more impressive.
-When we do some experiments is better to accompany them with professional images.
-At least, it is better to use big letters than use bold letters.

Finally, with this activity we learnt that doing a presentation is a good way to show children why learning is not boring. In addition, we learnt a lot of other group's presentations; for example we discovered that it is very interesting teaching through a tale and also that we can do a type of game in order to facilitate the internalizing process of the content.

We hope you enjoy it!

Journalist Post

Hi, dear readers. I am Blanca and this week I had the role of journalist. This role is very interactive, because when the members of the group were giving their ideas for the presentation, were talking about the new task or doing the poster board and the Pearl Tree, I had to take photos and videos of that. I enjoy this role very much.
I also had to comment other blogs from people of the class and a blog from outside the class. These were the comments:
  • The first of all was in T8T’s blog:

  • The second one was in The Teachleaders’ blog:

  • The last one was in a blog from outside the class. The blog is from a girl of Chester and she did a Treasure Hunt with people of her city:

I have to add that the Treasure Hunt I like the most was the one of the group called "C'mon Tutankamon" which consists on an activity with the parts of the house and the media they chose, the power of the photoshop which can distorts the real perception of the kids.

Here you have some videos and photos of the work I have done during the week. I hope you enjoy it!

On 11st of February, the group starts the new task of the week in Organization class. The group was giving ideas of the election of the countries. In class, we decided to do the comparition between France and Mexico.
We continue after lunch in the classrooms of work at the Faculty of Philosophy in order to try to make a progress in the presentation. We started doing the comparision between the different projections, here you can see the facilitator of this week, Rosana.

Here we have our stars of the week preparing their presentation on Tuesday 11st in the afternoon (Alba and Raquel).

Then, we started to express our ideas in the poster board. In this photo you can see a member of the group, María, drawing and doing the final details of the poster.
On Wednesday 12nd of February, the group study a bit what we had learnt these days and think in things we can add to our task.

On Thursday 13rd of February, we continue

our work in Organization class. We have most
of the work done. We asked some cuestions
to Isabel in order to check that our work was
being well done.

The following days we continue with the task in our houses because each member of the group were in our respective cities. In that way, we asked our doubts through Skype or Whatsapp.

On 17th of February, we have the presentation of the groups of the class. The teacher distributed the class in groups depending in the role that each person have:

These are some pictures of poster boards of the groups in class.

Here you have some photos of the presentations about the topic of the week: Cartography maps, media and treasure hunt.

I like very much the topic of this week because I have learnt new things I did not know. An example of that it is I did not know that with the different projections, the countries have distinct measures. In this way, since we are young, we learn in an inappropriate way, in my point of view.

This week we did the task faster, although we hardly had time in class. We already had more practice and I hope that in the next few weeks it keeps better. I also have to add that some projections in the task, such as the Azimuthal Projection, have very few pages where to find information, but I think we could resolve it.

Best regards!

Journalist Post

Hello everyone! I’m Alba, the journalist of the first week of work for the course of #SoyER1314. I enjoyed too much with this role because apart from help the girls with their tasks, I was taking photos, recording videos of anything we did, it was very interesting. Also, I discovered a lot of new things watching in the other teams’ blogs and other blogs from the Internet. I liked too much Give me 7 blog (http://giveme7blog.blogspot.com.es/), in my opinion, It is very professional and looks really nice, also they’ve got interesting things from their point of view, but I decided to comment Teachleaders’ Blog (http://theteachleaderssoyer.blogspot.com.es/), I liked it because in my opinion they worked really well and have got a very good organization for me, they’ve got feeling between them and it is demonstrated in the blog. Also I found very interesting a blog which I found on Twitter about TPACK and the way of integrate its different concepts in order improve the education of our schools nowadays.

How did the Little Ants work during the week?

Day 1: We felt really confused with the links we have, we didn’t know how to work, what our teacher wanted, the way of divide the Task… so we read all the links together and started to surf the Internet for more information and examples. We divided our work and started helping each others. Our dynamic is simple, although everyone have their role, we work in pairs or threesome with all the task, in this way, we know what is doing all the team and have clear the objective of the task. So, with many websites read we started.
At first, we decided to do a complete Mind Map, with so many things in order to explain what is TPACK, all its influences, its history…
The curator- farmer started to investigate what it’s a Pearl Tree and compiling all the references, I was taking photos all the time and I decided to upload some videos of the girls working to youtube…
Day 2: We meet again and continue working in the same way as the day before. We just have some problems with the Mind Map because we want to write on it so many things and the space was very limited. Our stars, Rosana and María Dolores started to prepare the exposition, and we worked in the blog. It was our first time doing a blog and we found it very interesting and useful to communicate our work to the rest of the world.

Day 3:  We meet to finish our work, all the team was concentrated in the task and the stars were ready to the exposition. We just have to finished our work by ourselves at home…

Monday: And the big day came… the day of the exposition was here!
Rosana and María Dolores were very nervous and also the rest of the team. We present our findings about TPACK to the rest of the class. And while they were talking it to the other teams, we were listening to the other teams’ exposition. All of them did a very good job. It is not easy to speak in English to the whole class and we take in account it a lot. The day had finished and our stars could relax a bit after the exposition. We were given a new task from our teacher and start to the think in the work of next week.
You can see some photos and videos here…
